Art

CBMS Art Club is intended to meet the needs of students who have an interest in Art, but are unable to fit Art Class into their instructional day. Art Club will also be open to students currently enrolled in Art Class, if space allows (this will depend on demand).
Our goals will be:
- -to provide Art instruction and creation opportunities
- -to beautify our school
- -to give back to the community (partnering with Kindness Revolution and other local charities)
- -to provide leadership opportunities for students
- -to offer more CBMS students opportunities in the Arts: contests, exhibits, etc.
- -Field trips!

“The CBMS Band is under the direction of Mr. David Collins. The band consists of over 150 7th and 8th graders, and is growing every year! The CBMS Band has consistently scored Superior Ratings at the Alabama Music Performance Assessment and has numerous students participating in Honor Bands, such as All-County, All-District, and All-State each year.
Not only does the CBMS Band perform in concerts every year, but the Pep Band also performs at pep rallies and football games throughout the Fall.

FCCLA (Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America) is a nonprofit national career and technical student organization for young men and women in family and consumer sciences education in public and private school through grade 12.
While everyone is part of a family, FCCLA is the only national career, and technical student organization with the family as its central focus. Since 1945, FCCLA members have been making a difference in their families, careers and communities by addressing important personal, work and societal issues through family and consumer sciences education. Today over 250,000 members in nearly 7,000 chapters are active in a network of associations in 50 states as well as in the District of Columbia, the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
Chapter projects focus on a variety of youth concerns, including teen pregnancy, parenting, family relationships, substance abuse, peer pressure, environment, nutrition and fitness, culinary arts, teen violence and career exploration.
Involvement in FCCLA offers members the opportunity to expand their leadership potential and develop skills for life -- planning, goal setting, problem solving, decision making and interpersonal communication -- necessary in the home and workplace.

Peer Helpers

Peer Helpers are a diverse group of students within each school, brought together, and taught skills to equip them with strategies necessary to support their peers through daily issues and life obstacles. The Peer Helpers act as a friendly face to incoming new students, act as mentors and tutors to fellow students, raise awareness around trending issues in their schools and communities, and support their schools by creating a climate of kindness.

There is no cost, students apply to become a peer helper and must have recommendations. Students are selected from the applications submitted.
Scholars Bowl
The Scholars' Bowl is an academic club in which teams of students compete to answer questions from numerous fields of knowledge, including all middle school subjects, current events, sports, popular culture, and the arts. Teams consist of 4 players and 2 alternates. Our school has two teams. Students attend weekly practices and also represent Central Baldwin Middle School at tournaments against other middle schools leading up to the County Tournament at the end of the season.

Each year SGA is in charge of planning and preparing for the 8th grade banquet, doing various fundraisers for our school, and being a part of our school’s Veteran’s Day program. Technology Student Association

The Technology Student Association (TSA) is a national non-profit career and technical student organization (CTSO) of middle and high school students engaged in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Today, over 300,000 students participate in TSA’s competitions, intracurricular activities, leadership opportunities, and community service.
